چکیده
The main objective of this study was assessment the performance, emissions and combustion characteristics a diesel engine using RME–1-butanol blends. In assessing process, great importance placed on evaluating stability process. Not only were typical COVIMEP indicators assessed, but also non-burnability characteristic stages: ignition delay, time 50% heat release end combustion. evaluation process based analysis release. tests carried out 1-cylinder operating at constant load. Research mixture RME 1-butanol for entire range shares both fuels up to 90% energetic fraction. participation butanol in with increased in-cylinder peak pressure rate. With increase share there noted decrease specific energy consumption an efficiency. improved stability. There NOx CO soot emissions. can be power by blend 80% butanol.

Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine with Cottonseed Oil Plus Diesel Oil Blends
aIn the present study a 4-stroke 5hp diesel engine was tested with Diesel oil plus cottonseed oil blends. The blends in different proportions (10 to 50 percent by volume) were tested at constant speed of 1500 rpm. The said engine is operated at different loads and characteristics like Brake power, Brake thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption etc. Engine performance for blends resulted in...
متن کاملExperimental Studies on the Combustion Characteristics and Performance of A Direct Injection Engine Fueled with Biodiesel/Diesel Blends with SCR
Biodiesel is an alternative diesel fuel that can be produced from different kinds of vegetable oils. It is an oxygenated, non-toxic, sulphur-free, biodegradable, and renewable fuel and can be used in diesel engines without significant modification. However, the performance, emissions and combustion characteristics will be different for the same biodiesel used in different types of engine. In th...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Modeling of Combustion Process, Soot and NOx formation In a Direct-injection Diesel Engine
This paper is presented to study the combustion process and emissions in a direct injection diesel engine. Computations are carried out using a three-dimensional model for flows, sprays, combustion and emissions in Diesel engines. Interactions between combustion and emissions with flow field are considered and it is shown that soot mass fraction increases at regions with low turbulence inten...
متن کاملComparison of performance and combustion parameters in a heavy-duty diesel engine fueled with iso-butanol/diesel fuel blends
This study discusses the suitability of iso-butanol/diesel fuel blends as an alternative fuel and determines their effects on the performance and combustion characteristics of a heavy-duty diesel engine. For this purpose, various isobutanol/diesel fuel blends containing 5%, 10% and 15% iso-butanol were prepared in volume basis and tested in a turbo-charged, six-cylinder direct injection diesel ...
متن کاملEffects of Direct Water Injection on DI Diesel Engine Combustion
The effects of in-cylinder water injection on a direct injection (DI) Diesel engine were studied using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program based on the Kiva-3v code. The spray model is validated against experimental bomb data with good agreement for vapor penetration as a function of time. It was found that liquid penetration increased approximately 35% with 23% of the fuel volume repl...
